Linguaskill
Linguaskill tests are quick and convenient digital assessments powered by Artificial Intelligence technology. They test all four language skills - speaking, writing, reading and listening - in modules.
They provide accurate results within 5 working days and are easy to administer. Results are aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international standard for describing language ability.
Exam Format
Reading
The Reading module is adaptive therefore there are no fixed number of questions. Each question the candidate answers helps the computer to understand their level better. The test finishes when the candidate has answered enough questions for Linguaskill to identify their level accurately. The length is a maximum of 59 minutes.
Listening
The Listening module is adaptive therefore there are no fixed number of questions. Each question the candidate answers helps the computer to understand their level better. The test finishes when the candidate has answered enough questions for Linguaskill to identify their level accurately. The length is a maximum of 59 minutes.
Writing
The Writing test consists of a single task. The candidates are asked to write an essay. Candidates must write a text of at least 250 words. The length is 45 minutes.
Speaking
The speaking module is taken on a computer with a headset. The questions are displayed on the screen and the candidate's answers are recorded. The test is assessed by examiners or using our market-leading automated marking technology, known as ‘hybrid marking’. The length is about 16 minutes.
